In addition to the main headline-grabbing sessions reported in the Press, Davos also includes many hundreds of meetings to discuss specific subjects. Last year at Davos 2010, under the heading Faith and the Global Agenda, the World Economic Forum (WEF) gathered contributions on the subject of values from spiritual and faith leaders from across the World under the heading “Values for the Post-Crisis Economy.” This paper included an article by HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of IAHV – Click Here to Read Values for the Post-Crisis Economy (PDF). This paper concerned how we should respond to the global economic crisis, including the need to rethink the development of the moral framework. It raises a fundamental question: whether we can be successful in adopting a more community spirit, or whether we will fall back into old habits and excesses, thereby further undermining social peace and wellbeing.
