Barclays and International Association for Human Values launched the ‘Barclays – Connect with Work Program’ to enhance skills of students passing from degree colleges in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. This initiative assisted students to face job interviews with confidence, improving their communication and CV writing skills.

The program is aimed at supporting final year students with the aptitude and attitude skills to enter the workplace, who may face barriers in doing so. The program helps them to up-skill and helps them to connect with businesses who are recruiting.

Our program received an astounding response from a large number of colleges across cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Delhi and Nashik. 55,050 students underwent the training and over 5500 students were placed in employment. Given the achievements in the first year of introduction, IAHV has been entrusted to train 100,000 more students across India.

In the small town of Badgam near Srinagar, many youth dropped out of education due to financial pressure. Enrolled in our leadership program, these youth were given technical and soft-skills training for 3 months at the Sri Sri Kaushal Vikas Kendra under the Prime Minister’s Kaushal Vikas Yojana. All costs including transportation, food, accommodation were borne by our programs.

They were inspired to become strong community leaders, with confidence and increased soft skills. Many of these youth were placed in employment after the training. Others were excited about their future, some of whom wanted to set up similar skills development centers in their home town, to create more employment opportunities for others too.
