The disaster management wing of the IAHV offers interventions to disaster victims at two levels:

The Basis

This caters primarily to the immediate short term alleviation of human suffering. The focus here is:

  • Immediate Relief of Displaced Victims
  • 12-18 month window for medium term Rehabilitation
  • Trauma relief for empowering people to start the painful process of rebuilding their lives

This includes:

  • Immediate Relief supplies, household items
  • Water and Sanitation Projects
  • Trauma Relief Camps
  • Providing Shelter for Orphans and Destitute women
  • Training of Local youth and women to impart safety awareness camps
  • Empowerment of community through women's empowerment programs

Long Term Rehabilitation programs is to follow up on the SERV program through schools, orphanages, women's empowerment projects based on capacity building and employment generation schemes.
